Place Attachment is a fundamental for residents to connect with their residence and to get to know more deeply every aspect in it. This knowledge and relationship can be used as part of the development and implementation of tourism in community-based areas. This study suggests guidelines for stakeholders to consider the local place attachment approach in developing tourism in Tidung Island. Considerations related to this emotional relationship can also be used to improve the welfare of the local community by minimizing negative things that can affect the resident’s place attachment. text
