Description
Summary:A major concern in design and assessment of pipeline structures is regarding with freespan and fatigue damage. Fatigue damage consist of environmental loading especially from current and wave. Pipeline structure will be vibration significantly effect by environmental loading. Vibration of pipeline not only effect from environmental loading (wave and current) but also secondary fenomena. The secondary fenomena which result vibration be familiar with Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV). VIV will occurred in freespan pipeline condition. VIV will be impact to fatigue life of pipeline structure. This thesis will discuss the basic consideration involved in a freespan and fatigue approach for the design and analysis of offshore pipeline structure. From the result, it is shown the relationship between e/D and VIV effect. Also it is shown that major fatigue damage effect of VIV consequence from current load.
