Description
Summary:In 2020, the world has been hit by what it’s known to be the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic forced governments, such as the Jakarta government to take measures and made rules and regulations to overcome this. They started implementing full-scale Work From Home (WFH) regulations for every company in 2020. PT PEI is a critical company, because its business is involved in the oil and gas industry, and even for critical companies such as PT PEI, they are only allowed 100% capacity for their operational side and only 25% for their supporting side. The main focus for this study is PT PEI Jakarta employees which consists of employees on the supporting side. The problems the employee faced were inaccessible files outside the office, and administrative processes that are still being done by paper. A qualitative study using survey was done by the author to find out which departments decreased in job performance, and which of the aspects found in their jobs, namely Job Complexity, Interdependence, and Social Support aspect of their work characteristic would have a direct effect on Problem Solving, as well as an indirect effect on Job Performance mediated by Problem Solving. A questionnaire regarding work characteristics were distributed, and job performance data from the company was acquired. They are processed through Path Analysis to find out if each variables have connections with each other, and then using SmartPLS software system to overcome the limited samples acquired during the study. The results of this study are, most departments job performance decreased, except for the CORSEC and the FAT department. Also, job complexity, interdependence and social support directly affect problem solving in employees, as well as indirectly affecting their job performance. Based on the results, the implementation plan for this company would be improving the company’s network database and cloud storage to alleviate the problem of accessing work data and addition of employees in each department for a more optimal work experience.
