Self-medication is also common among university students. The application of self-medication can reduce the burden on healthcare services, reduce healthcare costs, and save time. But on the other hand, it can become a source of problems related to drugs if not done correctly. This study determines the level of knowledge and behaviour towards self-medication among undergraduate students of Institut Teknologi Bandung, determines relationship between knowledge and behaviour towards self-medication, and determines the effect of pharmaceutical health education on knowledge and behaviour towards self-medication. This study was conducted with a cross-sectional approach method, using a questionnaire that filled out by 404 undergraduate students at Institut Teknologi Bandung batch 2022/2023. It was found that 76.24% (n=154) School of Pharmacy students and 11.39% (n=23) non School of Pharmacy students had good knowledge about self-medication. About 86.63% (n=175) of Pharmacy School students and 75.25% (n=152) of non-Pharmacy School students had good self-medication behaviour. There was a significant difference in the level of knowledge towards self-medication (p=0.000) and significant difference in self-medication behaviour (p=0.000) between the School of Pharmacy and non School of Pharmacy student groups. The study showed that students who received pharmaceutical education had better knowledge and behaviour towards self-medication. The correlation between knowledge and behaviour dimensions has been found to be weak and can be disregarded and statistically insignificant (r = 0,064, p = 0,119, 95%CI -0,034 – 0,161). text
