Summary: | The purpose of bathymetric survey is to map seabed topography. Along with advancing technologies, bathymetric survey method also being developed. One of the instrument to acquire depth data is multibeam echosounder, which using acoustic wave technology. Because consists of transdusers array which has fan shaped beaming acoustic wave, multibeam echosounder able to map seabed without gap. Large data volume resulted from multibeam survey, makes manually data processing become inefficient. Therefore, it needs computer hardware and software specifically built for multibeam data processing. One of the software is Caris HIPS (Computer Aided Resource Information System, Hydrographic Information Processing System). This thesis discuss the ability of multibeam data processing through modules which provided by HIPS software. |
