Summary: | Many high school students this day have difficulty obtaining college-related information for
selecting majors in higher education. It is because of difficulty in finding the right source of
information, do not have acquaintances to ask, and lack of a place for them to discuss this
thing with each other. Even college students are reluctant to provide the information they
have because no one asks them. This functionality is available in the Quora application, but
based on observations, it is known that the application is not easy to use because the features
are placed too deep, the flow is too long, the icons are difficult to understand and the icon
placement is unfamiliar, not displaying page titles, not knowing the goals have been achieved
and there is no distinction between header and body in the page. For this reason, a
question-and-answer social media application prototype was designed to improve the Quora
application interaction design. The prototype was built using the User-Centered Design
(UCD) methodology and the ISO 9241-210 standard. This prototype design has features that
display the origin of the instance user, Anonymous, with a menu that users could create and
post questions and answers, search for information with a short and simple flow, which
displays page titles, notifications of successfully published and using familiar icons. The
results of the evaluation of the high-fidelity prototype show that this prototype design is
effective to use based on a success rate of 100%, more efficient than the Quora application
based on time to task completion rate, and satisfactory with an SEQ score of 6.98 out of a
scale of 7. |
