Summary: | Tourism has become an important sector in the Indonesian economic and
Yogyakarta had become a province that prioritizes the development of the tourism
sector as domestic income. A significant decrease in the number of tourists by
61.76% in 2020 occurred due to the impact of the pandemic and one of the efforts
to develop tourism is through increasing accessibility and supporting
infrastructure. Accessibility is a key factor in tourist destinations, especially
through tourism public transport services which are currently not been well
planned and that’s is one indicator of smart mobility as a component of smart city
which is one of the solutions for sustainable development.
Tebing Breksi and Prambanan Temple are cultural heritage areas in DIY with
various artistic and cultural attractions. Both are located nearby so that they can
be integrated into a wider tourist area. In 2017, Tebing Breksi won an award in the
category of Most Popular New Tourism Object at the Indonesian Enchantment
Award held by the Ministry of Tourism. This study aims to explore the potential and
preferences of tourists in using public transportation to travel in the Tebing Breksi
Area and its surroundings. Analysis uses a Likert scale to identify the
characteristics and needs of respondents, Importance Performance Analysis (IPA)
to identify tourist preferences in the use of tourism public transportation and SWOT
analysis to formulate a strategy for developing tourism public transport.
The main priority for development is public transportation in the form of shuttle
services such as microbuses with engines that have torque gradeability above 35%
originating from trusted service providers with the reliability of their drivers in
facing risky road terrain and having a fixed schedule that can be accessed through
the shuttle service online platform as well as at supporting stops. Improvement of
infrastructure on road routes is needed to comply with the specifications required
to improve security in transportation and travel. |
