INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/75804 <p align="justify"> Based on data recapitulation of outstanding work orders from 2013 to 2021, as many as 10.678 work orders have not moved according to the production plan. Efforts made by management are audits by searching for work orders manually on the shop floor. Based on the audit results, 3.955 work orders were lost, with an estimated loss of $742.703,85. To minimize the lost, managers need a real-time locating system for tracking work orders This research focuses on designing a prototype of real-time locating system based on RFID technology that is able to track work orders in real-time and can display the actual conditions of the shop floor. There are 8 main steps in the methodology, which are further detailed into stages according to the needs of the system prototype development. The main stages of sequential prototype development are define the problem, literature study, generate alternative concepts, evaluate and select a concept, detail the design and design defense, manufacture and testing, evaluate performance and prepare the final design report. This research resulted in hardware design, hardware and software connectivity design, and a proposed implementation plan scheme for real-time locating system prototype. The results of this study were tested with a proposed movement flow scenario carried out on a test site. The test results show that the system can track the movement of work orders in real-time and displays the actual conditions of the test environment. text |
