Result showed that diffused propranolol hydrochloride from gel containing 5% Tween 20 was more than that from gel without penetration enhancer, and the gel did not irritate rabbit skin. Diffusion test was performed in vitro by using impregned Whatman paper No.1 with Spangler solution. Penetration enhancer was used such as propylen-glycol, aceton, menthol, dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO), Tween 20, and Tween 60. text
