Description
Summary:COVID-19 is a traumatic event which had an impact globally and caused by individual factors (Williamson et, al., 2021). In addition to physical threats, the pandemic has negatively affected mental health and with it, intrapersonal relations. Through this event, comes positive potentials that grows called post-traumatic growth. Post-traumatic growth is personal growth triggered from traumatic events (Tedeschi & Calhoun, 2004). Furthermore, as an impact of COVID-19, another phenomenon has risen called post-pandemic restructured assumptions which consists of long-term effects from social distancing, xenophobia, and humility. From the two impacts above, this causes changes behavior in travelling. As a solution, wellness tourism becomes an intersection of both, tourism and health combined. By utilizing the healing effects of nature for health and accommodating the activities for post-traumatic growth, this becomes the answer to the problem caused by the pandemic. To increase the healing effects of nature and construct a built environment that releases stress, sensory design is an important principle to be implemented.
