Summary: | The idea of prefabricated dwellings brings the dilemma of being closer to
manufacturing rather than occupants. However, it is different from Atelier Riri's
Arsifab prefabricated residential planning which focuses on developing lifestyle,
conceptual and personal character. The research was conducted to understand the
formation of a sense of place inherent in its occupants through physical elements with
a spatial design analysis approach to its occupancy.
Qualitative methods with a case study approach have been used in this research
through two stages; Observation stage, explaining physical elements through planning
strategies, spatial requirements, and spatial compositions. The interview stage, related
to the factors forming the sense of place by Canter are cognitive, behavioral, and
emotional.
The results concluded, spatial design analysis of sense of place, that : 1) adjust,
achieve space needs and focus on accommodating important occupant activities in line
with effective and functional behavioral factors, referring to meeting basic needs and
supporting activities. 2) increase productivity through space incorporation, avoid
space wastage, and suffice areas that adjust the nature of the room in harmony With
practical and optimal cognitive factors, refers to the design of room arrangements that
prioritize comfort and convenience to achieve quality 3) Achieve efficient
personalization of the room, according to the needs and lifestyles of residents in line
with compatible emotional factors , refers to satisfaction with the suitability of
residents' needs and preferences.
