Summary:Pharmaceutical product development is very important to remedies the disease. The global count of diseases surpassed 10,000, whereas the number of available remedies was limited to a mere 500. However, the process of developing new product in the pharmaceutical industry, can be a complicated and challenging undertaking. According to data, the research and development (R&D) budget dedicated to creating novel drugs is five times greater than other sectors. This company also facing this issue. The problem on the developing pharmaceutical product is on the cost, timeline and human resources. R&D is the critical part in the deliverable of the new pharmaceutical product. If R&D takes a long time to research the pharmaceutical product, the product will also need more time to be delivered to the market. This research objective is to accelerate the product development and improve the deliverability of pharmaceutical product to the market. The conceptual framework that used in this research are the combination of project management and digital transformation. The method in this research is using the qualitative research analysis using survey, articles, and internal data. The survey is conducted to the project leader and project team that already working in the R&D team for min 5 years, and analyse each phase in project management. All the data were analysed using content analysis. The result of this research is the implementation of project management in pharmaceutical product development is effective to decrease the development time significantly, with significancy T-Test result 0.00439. This project management implementation can be improved by implementation of digital transformation to fulfil the gaps. The conclusion is the digital transformation of project management is feasible to be implemented and can be the solution to improve the project management function in developing pharmaceutical product. Consequently, the pharmaceutical product development process is accelerated, enabling timely delivery of innovative pharmaceutical product to the market with a low cost, fast, and high-quality product.
