DETERMINATION OF FECAL SLUDGE LOADING FACTOR FROM RESIDENTIAL SEPTIC TANKS THAT ACCESS TO SAFE SANITATION IN CIBINONG SUB-DISTRICT

The pollutant load from domestic wastewater is a significant environmental problem to pay attention to along with the increasing population density. According to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, 2017, the most significant contributor to BOD pollutants in the Citarum Watershed comes from...

According to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, 2017, the most significant contributor to BOD pollutants in the Citarum Watershed comes from domestic waste (62.16%), as well as the most significant contributor to BOD pollutants in Bogor Regency is domestic waste (69.21%). It is necessary to plan the design of a domestic sewage treatment system as an effort to tackle pollution so that data for calculating the pollutant load factor is needed, which describes the existing conditions in Cibinong Sub-district, Bogor Regency. Seeing that the most widely used type of domestic wastewater management system (SPALD) in Bogor Regency is SPALD-S (67.77%) with the type of SPALD-S septic tank technology, a study was conducted to determine the fecal sludge pollutant load factor from the septic tank housing that meets access to safe sanitation in Cibinong Sub-district, Bogor Regency. Based on the results of the study, the range of fecal sludge emission factor in Cibinong Sub-district with a BOD value of 68.2 g/person/day, COD of 258.2 g/person/day, TSS of 76.6 g/person/day, and ammonia of 2.8 g/day person/day. The results of the research on the fecal sludge pollutant load factor from the septic tank in Cibinong Sub-District are expected to be used as basic data in the preparation of plans for designing domestic sewage treatment systems, improving domestic sewage treatment systems, calculating potential pollutant loads and estimating emissions released by septic tanks. text
