Summary: | CV Dipo Mulyo is a publishing and printing company that specializes in producing
supplementary and instructional books for Early Childhood Education (PAUD). In
2022, the company faced challenges in meeting customer orders, as evidenced by
the failure to achieve the target order fulfillment rate. Upon further investigation,
this issue arose due to the lack of a clear workflow from order reception to
processing, resulting in frequent errors in order recording and work order
creation. Therefore, a standardized business process for order reception and
processing needs to be designed for CV Dipo Mulyo. Additionally, this study also
involves designing a prototype information system to facilitate fast and accurate
record-keeping and calculations.
The research begins with mapping the current business process using the CFD
(cross-functional diagram) and PCF (Process Classification Framework) tools
from APQC (American Productivity & Quality Center). Subsequently, the scope of
information system development and system improvement objectives are
determined to serve as the foundation for information system development. This is
followed by identifying system requirements through observation and interviews
with company stakeholders. Once the requirements are identified, the proposed
business process is mapped using CFD and PCF. Then, a user interface tree is
designed to illustrate the interconnected components of the information system
interface. Next, data modeling is conducted which includes designing context
diagram, decomposition diagram, and data flow diagrams. Finally, before
proceeding with prototype design, process modeling is carried out using entity-
relationship diagram.
This research produces a proposed business process design and an information
system prototype that integrates the customer order reception and processing
processes. The design and prototype have been verified and validated according to
functional requirements. It is expected that the proposed business process design
and information system prototype will assist the company in improving the order
fulfillment rate and executing its business processes efficiently.
