It then followed by examining the residents' attitudes on the impact of sustainable development in the new capital. Three hundred and ninety-five respondents completed a survey conducted online using a stratified random sampling technique on five main islands in Indonesia. Amos v25 was used in this study to perform structural equation modelling (SEM). The findings reveal that the perceived positive impact has the most significant influence on the resident's attitude to participate in new capital city development. From the perspective of Theory planned behaviour only subjective norm and Perceived behaviour control influence the resident's intentions to participate in new capital city development. As a result, it proves that although the sustainable development impacts affect residents' attitudes towards capital city development, their attitudes do not affect their intention to participate in capital development. Hence, it would be concluded the Indonesian government is still non-optimal on socializing the economic, social, and environmental policies implemented in the new capital. text |

This paper investigates the factors that encourage residents'
intention to participate in the new capital through Theory Planned behaviour.
It then followed by examining the residents' attitudes on the impact of
sustainable development in the new capital. Three hundred and ninety-five
respondents completed a survey conducted online using a stratified random
sampling technique on five main islands in Indonesia. Amos v25 was used in
this study to perform structural equation modelling (SEM). The findings
reveal that the perceived positive impact has the most significant influence on
the resident's attitude to participate in new capital city development. From the
perspective of Theory planned behaviour only subjective norm and Perceived

development impacts affect residents' attitudes towards capital city
development, their attitudes do not affect their intention to participate in
capital development. Hence, it would be concluded the Indonesian
