Summary:<p align="justify">Knowledge Management (KM) has lately become an important system adapted in many companies. However, not all companies able to manage the implementation successfully. Therefore there is a need to assist the companies for implementing KM by assesing the readiness to implement KM in comprehensive dan details way. Unfortunately, there are no researches yet about assessing the implementation readiness and providing the company with the tools to choose the KM implementation method appropriate to their actual condition. This research objective is to answer this question by developing a measurement instrument to assess the company's readiness to implement KM and recommend it as an appropriate KM implementation method. This instrument was developed through three aspects: abstract, soft (human and organization) and hard (technology). This instrument was also constructed in two different views, managerial and employee's view, in order to get the comprehensive description in measuring actual gap existed. Readiness assessment had been quantitaviely conducted to measure abstract and soft aspect, and qualitatively for the hard aspect. Assessment result was visualy provided by web diagram as a tool to justify the weakest point as the basis to choose the appropriate KM implementation method for the company. This instrument was empirically validated in a leading telecommunication company located in Bandung and results the recommendation for the company to put KM effort more in the aspect of abstract way.
