Summary: | The global economy was significantly disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic in
2020, with the tourism sector experiencing some of the most severe impacts. MICE
(meeting, incentive, conference, and exhibition) tourism has suffered significantly
as a result of the pandemic. The INACRAFT Exhibition Event, which is normally
held annually, has been postponed until 2022. It is critical for every stakeholder
engaged to contribute according to their capacity in planning MICE tourism, which
has been postponed, particularly owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. Various
stakeholders in the industry require excellent cooperation and coordination.
Therefore, this research aims to identify the role and participation of stakeholders
in developing MICE tourism in the form of exhibition events following the COVID19 pandemic. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method along with
stakeholder analysis. However, there is a need to enhance stakeholder alignment so
that they can synergize and collaborate more effectively. Furthermore, the influence
and interests of stakeholders indicate that initiators and organizers play a central
role as key players, while government agencies operate as context-setting
stakeholders. Likewise, the stakeholders have established coordination and
teamwork. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the establishment of effective and
optimal governance by focusing on sustainability and actively incorporating the
community is considered as having the potential to improve the quality of MICE
tourism implementation.
