Description
Summary:Infill drilling is a highly common process in the oil and gas field development phase, especially for relatively young fields or those with low oil recovery. Each infill drilling project requires significant investment or capital. Therefore, decision-making regarding field development proposals is crucial to achieve the company's profit targets. The company's capital utilization must be directed toward investments that indeed provide the highest value creation. This thesis discusses the opportunity to add new wells in the Meranti Field. The background for proposing this project lies in the potential remaining oil in the Meranti Field and the results from recent drilling in this field. The substantial opportunities identified through subsurface evaluations necessitated the project team to develop various development alternatives to obtain the most economical project package that also meets the criteria set by stakeholders. In addition to quantitative aspects like economic parameters, there are qualitative aspects such as project compliance and project cycle time. To integrate these two quantitative and qualitative aspects, a Decision-Making Analysis was conducted using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) multidecision criteria method. The results of this financial decision analysis yielded alternatives that meet the economic threshold, provide the highest value creation for investment efficiency, comply with existing regulations, and are visible for execution in the following year.
