Description
Summary:This research concerns with batch scheduling problem of multi-item processed on a batch processor where processing time of batch depends on total processing time of items in the batch. In this research, one batch may consist of more than one item and the processing time of an item is different from that of another item. Besides, the number of parts for all items ordered can differ from one another. The processing time of each batch is determined by the maximum processing time among those of all items in the batch. The decision variables in this research are the number of batch (N), batch size, and batch processing sequence to satisfy the objective of minimizing total actual flow time of parts through the shop. In this research, all the completed parts should be delivered at a common due date. Solutions of the model is obtained by applying software LINGO 11.0 and an algorithm proposed for the processing time between 2 until 14 days, as found paratical condition. Numerical experiences show that the proposed model works in solving multi-item batch scheduling problems on a batch processor with batch processing time depends on the processing time of items in the batch. The solution obtained by LINGO 11.0 is optimal.
