Summary: | The Banking industry which was previously known as a conventional industry has
entered a new phase in the digital era. The rapid development of IT (Information
Technology) increases customer expectations for banking services that are not only
safe, but also easy, fast, and not limited by distance and time. This encouragement
requires banks to adjust their business strategies by carrying out digital
transformation. Digital talent has suddenly become a favourite in the job market
and has resulted in high employee salaries. Rather than fighting for senior IT
employees with very high salaries, several companies have decided to build
Management Trainee IT program as a step to prepare future IT leaders.
Bank BKSI has built a Management Trainee IT program since 2018 to support the
digital transformation being carried out. Problems arose when the service bond
ended, many digital talents who were being prepared to become future IT leaders
left Bank BKSI. Of course, this will cause losses if this continues and is not
resolved. The objective of this research is to explain several factors related to
intention to leave of Management Trainee IT graduates and provide suggestions
that can be made to reduce the intention to leave of Management Trainee IT
graduates at Bank BKSI. This research utilized mixed methods approach.
Quantitative data collection and analysis was carried out through a questionnaire
survey, followed by qualitative data collection and analysis of interviews with
Management Trainees IT graduates who completed their service bond.
From the research results, it was found that job burnout and silent quitting had a
significant influence on the intention to leave graduates of the IT Management
Trainee program at Bank BKSI. Several things recommended for the Management
Trainee IT program at Bank BKSI to reduce the intention to leave of its graduates
are regular project rotation, aspiration session, mentorship, and appropriate
compensation. |
