Summary: | This research embarks on a critical examination of PT. Telkom Indonesia, Tbk's journey in digital transformation, with a specific focus on addressing the inefficiencies in the integration of learning, research, and innovation strategies within its knowledge management framework. In the face of an evolving telecommunications industry, Telkom Indonesia, a significant state-owned entity, has traditionally exhibited a preference for operational stability over innovation and rapid adoption of new technologies and methodologies. This propensity has created a landscape where the potential for organizational learning and development has been underutilized, leading to a knowledge gap that could impede the company's competitiveness and ability to adapt in a digitally transforming environment.
Central to this research are two pivotal questions: Firstly, what are the underlying factors contributing to the ineffectiveness of integrated learning, research, and innovation strategies in Telkom Indonesia's knowledge process? Secondly, how can these strategies be refined and enhanced to effectively close the knowledge gap and support the company's broader goals of corporate transformation? The study aims to provide a comprehensive answer to these questions by identifying the barriers and enablers within the existing corporate structure and culture that impact the efficacy of these integrated strategies.
The research objectives are twofold. The first objective is to dissect and understand the root causes leading to the suboptimal integration of learning, research, and innovation within Telkom Indonesia. This involves analyzing the existing knowledge management practices and identifying the gaps that hinder the effective dissemination and utilization of knowledge within the organization. The second objective is to formulate robust recommendations that can revitalize Telkom Indonesia's approach to learning, research, and innovation. These recommendations are aimed at bridging the identified knowledge gaps and aligning the company's strategic efforts with the demands of a rapidly digitizing global market.
Employing a mixed-methods approach, this study combines quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current situation at Telkom Indonesia. Quantitative data, derived from surveys and organizational records, will provide a baseline assessment of the existing knowledge gap. This data will be supplemented with qualitative insights gained from interviews and case studies involving key stakeholders within the company. These stakeholders include personnel directly involved in the learning, research, and innovation processes, as well as those who are affected by these processes.
The conceptual framework of this study rests on the intersection of knowledge management, learning and development, research management, and innovation processes. This framework acknowledges the multifaceted nature of corporate learning and development, recognizing the need for a holistic approach that integrates these elements seamlessly within the organizational fabric. The study hypothesizes that a well-structured integration of learning, research, and innovation, rooted in the principles of effective knowledge management, can significantly enhance Telkom Indonesia's capabilities in navigating the challenges of digital transformation.
The anticipated outcome of this research is a set of actionable strategies that not only address the immediate knowledge management challenges faced by Telkom Indonesia but also lay a strong foundation for sustained corporate growth and adaptability in the digital era. These strategies are expected to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation, positioning Telkom Indonesia as a leader in the telecommunications industry, adept at harnessing the power of digital transformation for strategic advantage. The study's findings are projected to offer valuable insights into the dynamics of corporate learning and innovation, contributing significantly to the field of knowledge management and digital transformation strategies in large-scale enterprises.
