Summary: | Onboarding is a critical phase for new hire employee. This is the phase where they are
learning to adapt with the new organization to contribute through their role to achieve
the organization’s goal. Managers play an important role to support the newcomers to
perform and to meet the expectations that gave to them. This research conducted in Bank
Pelopor – pioneer of digital bank in Indonesia to perceive the employee experience, the
problem endured, also the support they needed during the onboarding period. This
research aims to propose the onboarding program that can be implemented to Bank
Pelopor to improve the new hire productivity and contribution to the organization. The
research is using mix method of qualitative and quantitative.
Author started this research with collecting the feedback from new hire employee using
questionnaire follows with In Depth Interview with Authorized Human Resources of
Bank Pelopor to understand the needs and expectation both from employee and the
Management sides during the onboarding period. From this research, it is concluded that
new hire employee in Bank Pelopor have a good experience during the onboarding
program.
However, Bank Pelopor needs to improve the onboarding process in terms of
Administration, Early Career Support, also the function of Governance. Author
suggested Strategic Onboarding Program to Bank Pelopor to provide the support needed
by the new employees during the onboarding period. This program also to boost the new
hire productivity and to contribute through their roles and responsibilities for the
achievement the organization’s goals. |
