INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/81179 Banten Kidul Traditional Unity is a part of Sundanese Traditional Community which until now is still consistent with the ngalalakon ritual. Ngalalakon is the process movement of settlements as Traditional centers from one area to another. Kasepuhan Gelaralam is the destination of the 20th ngalalakon journey, since the first settlement was formed in 1368. Several elements that existed in the ol traditional center (tari kolot) were also moved to the new traditional center (kasepuhan). Other elements are presented in the new order as a form of odjustment to their new environtment. Ngalalakon will certainly influence changes in the settlement pattern of the traditional center from the old Kasepuhan to the new Kasepuhan. This research aims to explore the physical and non-physical changes in the architecture of the Banten Kidul Traditional Unity that accompanied the resettlemet of these settlements. Patterns of change were studied through observations of cultural attributes in the Ciptagelar and Gelaralam settlements. This case is based on the fact about the Kasepuhan Ciptagelar indigenous community moved their settlement in early 2022 after the last movement was carried out in early 2001. This tradition will continue to take place as instruction by the wangsit of the ancestors. This research is qualitative research achieved through an exploratory process by reading aspects of architecture through the cultural attributes of Ciptagelar and Gelaralam. The main aim of this research is to understand dynamics of architecture through patterns and changes in the physical and non-physical aspect of traditional settlement which fall into the categories of Fixed Features Element, Semi-Fixed Features Element and Non-Fixed Features Element. This research was achieved using an inductive-naturalistic paradigm through an etnigraphic approach. The outcome of this research is to contribute new knowledge regarding the dynamics of vernacular architecture and understanding of the indications that an architectural context is experiencing dynamics. The final result of this research is a reading tools for the operationalization of data collection on aspects of vernacular architecture, as well as a tools for analyzing and identifying dynamics of architectural that can be applied to research was related to dynamics of architectural in general. text
