Summary: | Urban areas are facing various issues such as traffic congeestion, air pollution,
and declining environmental quality. City centers, which play a central role in
porviding services to urban residents are expexted to offer various functions both
in term of consumption and production to meet the needs of their residents. The 15-
Minutes City is a concept that emphasizes a plycentric structure aimed for more
efficient urban services by creating closely located city centers near tje residential
areaas, thereby could help addressing urban problems. This research aims to
explore the alternative locations of city centers in Bandung usieng the 15-Minutes
City concept. The reseatch use and investigative quantitative approach with
explaratory analysis on Bandung City as the study area that conducted through a
spatial approach on a 100 m x 100 m grid scale. It begins by determining the
criteria for city cinters using the 15-Minutes City concept. Subsequently, alternative
city center locations and also its characteristics and function are identified spatially
based on the predetermined criteria. A comparative evaluation is also conducted
between the current city centers of Bandung and the identifiede alternative
locations. The research finds that there are nine alternative city center locations
that align with the 15-Minutes City concept, differing from the established city
centers of Bandung. It is hoped that this research can serve as a basis fot
determining more efficient city centers in bandung, contributing to a more
sustainable city. |
