A street corridor consists of vehicle lanes, pedestrian paths, and surrounding buildings. This street corridor connects various types of activities, including public transportation. Street corridors play a significant role in helping the community access public transportation such as stations. However, various issues arise that can disadvantage multiple parties due to non-inclusive urban planning. Therefore, the design of the access road corridor for Padalarang Station and Padalarang HighSpeed Train with the concept of Gender Sensitive Urban Design is an effort to create an inclusive, safe, and comfortable urban space for all users, including women and other vulnerable groups. This study aims to design a road corridor according to the needs of different gender groups in using public spaces and to apply gender-responsive urban design principles in planning. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method focused on the access road corridor of Padalarang Station and Padalarang High-Speed Train. Data were obtained through field observations, interviews with road users, and a literature review related to the concept of Gender Sensitive Urban Design. The results of the study indicate that there are several potentials and physical issues referring to several criteria in designing road corridors with a gender-sensitive approach, including safety, comfort, accessibility and integration, cleanliness, inclusiveness, and sustainability. text |
