Summary: | The COVID-19 pandemic changed tourism trends due to travel restrictions and
tourists' concerns, emphasizing the importance of sustainable tourism. The
development of tourism in Tanjung Kelayang as a National Tourism Strategic Area
(KSPN) and Special Economic Zone (KEK) is directed towards supporting
sustainability. The local government is striving to improve tourism-supporting
infrastructure but must ensure that it meets sustainability criteria and aligns with
the perceptions and preferences of tourists and the community.
This research aims to evaluate the tourism infrastructure in Tanjung Kelayang
based on the perceptions and preferences of tourists and the community in the effort
to develop sustainable tourism. Based on this objective, there are three research
targets: identifying Tanjung Kelayang's tourism infrastructure according to
sustainable tourism principles, identifying the perceptions and preferences of
tourists and the community towards sustainable tourism infrastructure, and
formulating policy directions for the development of Tanjung Kelayang's tourism
infrastructure based on the perceptions and preferences of tourists and the
community in line with sustainable tourism principles..
This study uses a mixed-methods approach by combining quantitative descriptive
analysis (Importance Performance Analysis) and qualitative descriptive analysis.
Data was collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The
results indicate several key priorities that need to be developed in Tanjung
Kelayang, particularly in terms of air transportation infrastructure, land and port
infrastructure, as well as economic and environmental aspects. The tourism
development recommendations are based on eight priority strategies expected to
enhance the quality of tourism in Tanjung Kelayang in the future. |
