Summary: | Tritium CH) concentration verification method applied on soil sample, tested
by heating method using tube furnace. Soil sample was contaminated by tritium in
HTO (tritiated water) form then concentration variation between 180-740 Bq of 200
gram soil could be obtained. The contaminated soil was heated by tube furnace at
12o•c ·with surged nitrogen gas inside. Vapour from the heating process (containing
tritium in the form of free water tritium = FWT and organically bound tritium =
OBT) counted by LSC.
Tritium activity counting result compared with tritium actual concentration,
then tritium recovery prepared by this method obtained. From the measurement result
found that tube furnace method applied on soil sample gave a better result at lower
activity in range of 180-370 Bq of200 gram sample of soil. |
