Researchers keep on researching to find out the most efficient and effective to working with SSD. In some cases, they need an app to run SSD performance virtually. One of the technologies is called FEMU. FEMU is a fast, accurate, scalable, and extensible NVMe SSD emulator. Based upon QEMU/KVM, FEMU is exposed to Guest OS (Linux) as an NVMe block device. It supports emulation different types of SSDs; whitebox, blackbox, zns, and nossd. One of the features that FEMU lacks is buffer mechanism. Buffer mechanism is a mechanism of utilize small but fast memory to boost its performance. In this paper, buffer mechanism is implemented on FEMU Blackbox using LRU. Based on latency that it generates, mechanism buffer that implemented is in accordance with the theory. Mechanism buffer that implemented also increasing the performance of SSD that emulated in FEMU. text
