Description
Summary:The rapid growth of cities in Indonesia poses challenges in maintaining sustainable living quality. Urbanization increases the burden on city infrastructure and the environment, as experienced by Bandung with issues like air pollution and waste accumulation. The fire at the Sarimukti landfill, caused by an accumulation of 8,000 tons of waste, highlights the urgency for smart and sustainable solutions. The "Kang Pisman" program by the Bandung City Government, which aims to reduce waste through the principles of "Reduce, Separate, and Utilize," has not yet significantly reduced the waste volume. This study aims to design a more comprehensive waste management service measurement instrument for smart city assessment and evaluation, using data and indicators from the Rating Kota Cerdas Indonesia (RKCI) and the smart characteristics from SCCIC ITB. The study identifies gaps and formulates strategic recommendations tailored to Bandung's specific issues. The research methodology combines qualitative and quantitative approaches through the development of artifacts, evaluation, and reflection to ensure practical and impactful solutions. The findings reveal that despite significant efforts, Bandung's waste management still requires improvements in digitalization and smart technology integration. Evaluation of smart city service components, city living quality, and public perception shows varying maturity levels, with the main recommendation being the implementation of IoT and AI technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of waste management services. These strategic steps are expected to help Bandung achieve more efficient, effective, and sustainable waste management, and reduce inefficient transportation costs.
