The compounds formulas have been determined from the concentration of metal ion, anion, and water content. All the compounds contain four unpaired electrons with magnetic moments 5,16-5,72 BM. Thermal decomposition data revealed that only iron(II) chloride and iron(II) sulfate produced anhydrous compounds, but the other compounds decomposed on heating. The highest thermal stability had been observed for anhydrous FeSO4 and it began to decompose above 550 degree C. Iron(II)-bipyridine complex solution was produced by reaction of FeC12.4H2O with 2,2-bipyridine in ethanol, but iron(II)-bipyridine complexes precipitates were produced by reaction of Fe(C1O4)2.6H2O and Fe(BF4)2.6H2O with 2,2-bipyridine in ethanol. text |
