Quantitative thin layer chromatographic analysis of nicotine in cigarette smoke and various organs of male mice after inhalation of cigarette smoke has been carried out. The nicotine content in smoke of cigarette A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I was 0.23 plus minus 0.01, 0.26 plus minus 0.01, 0.25 plus minus 0.01, 0.25 plus minus 0.01, 0.25 plus minus 0.01, 0.18 plus minus 0.02, 1.12 plus minus 0.04, 1.37 plus minus 0.05, 1.42 plus minus 0.06 mg/g tobacco and in lung, kidney and liver 20.79 plus minus 1.52, 0.98 plus minus 0.05 and 3.53 plus minus 0.26 pg/g organ respectively. |
