INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/82668 The development of technology is progressing rapidly these days. One significant result of technological advancement that impacts human life is Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is designed to think like humans. Generative AI is a type of AI that can produce creative works, such as art. Its presence in the creative world has raised problems that threaten artists but also provides new benefits for them. One notable location famous for its artists is Jalan Braga. Since Abah Ropih exhibited his paintings along the sidewalks of Jalan Braga, more and more artists have joined in displaying and selling their paintings there. This research aims to identify strategies for facing the era of artificial intelligence in the creative economy of painting, based on the perceptions of informal creative economy actors in Jalan Braga and local government policies. The methods used in this research include coding analysis, thematic analysis, and SWOT analysis with an in-depth interview research approach. The findings of this study show that artists' views on the presence of generative AI in the creative world are divided into two perspectives. Some artists feel assisted by generative AI, while others feel threatened. Currently, Indonesian law does not regulate the ethics and use of generative AI in the creative world. Efforts made by the Bandung City government to minimize this issue include organizing discussion forums like Patrakomala Coffee Club for all creative economy actors. The final result of this research is a set of strategies that can be implemented by related parties to mitigate the negative impacts and leverage the potential benefits of generative AI. text
