Space syntax analysis utilizes depthmapX software to identify areas causing circulation problems and areas with wayfinding issues. The research findings and space syntax results employ different methods. Related studies assess patients' familiarity levels with circulation using observation, interviews, and questionnaires to gather direct data from patients about their experiences. Meanwhile, space syntax is a spatial analysis method used to map and understand spatial configurations and how they influence human movement and interaction. The combination of these two methods provides a comprehensive overview of circulation efficiency and wayfinding use in hospitals. The research results indicate that outpatient installation circulation among patients shows a good level of familiarity, thereby facilitating patient orientation and navigation. However, the space syntax results differ inversely, indicating areas that are challenging to reach due to visibility or distance to rooms, and areas that attract patient activity within the outpatient installation. Despite patients' high understanding of familiarity, there are still shortcomings in the use of directional signs. This suggests findings that RSUD Dr. Tjitrowardojo Purworejo faces significant challenges in the effectiveness and consistency of signage use. Comprehensive improvements in directional signage and placement are needed to enhance patient navigation and minimize confusion within the outpatient installation. This study provides an evaluation and recommendations to improve the effectiveness of wayfinding in hospitals. text |

The use of wayfinding in hospitals plays a crucial role in the circulation of
outpatient patients. This study aims to examine and evaluate the circulation of
outpatient installation through a wayfinding approach. It employs a descriptive
quantitative method, with data collected through observations and questionnaires
filled out by 102 respondents. Subsequently, space syntax method is used to analyze
spatial readability issues in the outpatient installation. Space syntax analysis
utilizes depthmapX software to identify areas causing circulation problems and
areas with wayfinding issues. The research findings and space syntax results
employ different methods. Related studies assess patients' familiarity levels with
circulation using observation, interviews, and questionnaires to gather direct data
from patients about their experiences. Meanwhile, space syntax is a spatial analysis
method used to map and understand spatial configurations and how they influence
human movement and interaction. The combination of these two methods provides
a comprehensive overview of circulation efficiency and wayfinding use in hospitals.
The research results indicate that outpatient installation circulation among patients
shows a good level of familiarity, thereby facilitating patient orientation and
navigation. However, the space syntax results differ inversely, indicating areas that
are challenging to reach due to visibility or distance to rooms, and areas that
attract patient activity within the outpatient installation. Despite patients' high
understanding of familiarity, there are still shortcomings in the use of directional
signs. This suggests findings that RSUD Dr. Tjitrowardojo Purworejo faces
significant challenges in the effectiveness and consistency of signage use.
Comprehensive improvements in directional signage and placement are needed to
enhance patient navigation and minimize confusion within the outpatient
installation. This study provides an evaluation and recommendations to improve
the effectiveness of wayfinding in hospitals. |
