Description
Summary:The importance of physical, mental and social well-being is emphasized in the health standards and global public health coordination that have been developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) since 1948. According to WHO, being healthy is an overall condition. mental, physical and social well-being, not just freedom from disease or disability. In today's stressful society, mental health is often at risk. Loneliness is a common mental health problem, and if ignored, can lead to a number of illnesses, including excessive stress, hopelessness, physical health problems, and cognitive decline. Additionally, loneliness can hinder a person's social and emotional growth by resulting in low self-esteem, social isolation, and harmful actions motivated by the need for approval. To support the mental health of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) students, the ITB Directorate of Student Affairs (Ditmawa ITB) provides Counseling Services (BK ITB). One of the important developed programs in it is a Student Peer Service (PS ITB), which aims to provide initial assistance to students who are facing emotional problems. Considering that students who join PS ITB are not professional medical personnel, improvements in management and supervision in this service are needed so that the accompaniment procedures are more structured and do not burden the peers. Common complaints include slow coordination between members in responding to tasks and undirected reporting after accompaniment. The aim of this project is to develop an information system for management and supervision of the ITB student peer service program. The goal is to provide a method for PS ITB to enter data into the information system, ensure data accuracy and provide restrictions on data access to be read by BK ITB. In order to increase supervision and transparency of the ITB PS, this project also seeks to create an information system that allows limited access for the ITB BK to read and evaluate the performance of the ITB PS. To guarantee that users' needs and preferences are met, this final project use user- centered design as its method, collaborating with users to ensure their functional iv needs are met. In depth interviews with BK ITB were conducted in addition to functional and usability testing to obtain qualitative input regarding the effectiveness of the system being developed. The implementation results of the web application called Peer Supervision App indicated that the data input system by PS ITB is designed to ensure the completeness of information and to limit BK ITB’s access only to the schedules and reports of supervision, without the ability to alter the data or see the true identities of the students. PS ITB admins have full access to the incoming students queue, while BK ITB can monitor activity statistics anonymously. Testing results showed that this system functions well, is suitable for use, and is accepted by users.
