Description
Summary:Batik culture is a type of art that has become a cultural icon in the archipelago and even abroad. One area that is famous for its batik production and patterns is Yogyakarta. Unfortunately, today's younger generation tends to care less for learning and continuing batik culture. Besides that, various learning and recreation facilities that utilize the latest technology are more popular with the public population. Therefore, an interior design for a batik center that utilizes interactive technology and still carries cultural elements needs to be created. The aim of this project is to design an educational and recreational facility that is of interest to various groups of society, especially young people, and is successful in increasing public knowledge of batik. The resulting design is an interior that combines various elements of Yogyakarta’s local culture and all its potential with interactive installation technology such as video mapping and touch screens. Apart from these attractive displays, the batik center provides workshop and clothing rental facilities so that visitors can be involved in the batik making process itself.
