Founded in 2008, the proliferation of local fashion businesses became a challenge for
Adorable Projects to remain competitive among its competitors. This tight business
competition requires the implementation of strategic steps by company management for
business continuity. Currently, Adorable Projects is considered not to have good
management, as indicated by complaints from company employees regarding inappropriate
workloads. This problem is caused by the absence of an organizational structure that
properly defines the chain of command. Adorable Projects has implemented company
business processes in its business operational routines. Therefore, it is necessary to design
an organizational structure based on the company's business process flow.
In designing an organizational structure, organizational technology needs to be considered.
The organizational technology studied is the interdependence between processes. This was
identified by mapping the existing Adorable Projects business processes and designing new
business processes based on standard references. After the proposed business process is
relevant to the company, the interdependency between business processes is identified,
which becomes the basis for determining departmentalization. Then, the mapping of the
responsibility level for each function is carried out. By carrying out these stages, the
proposed organizational structure is designed.
The research resulted in proposed business processes, which include strategic business
processes, namely strategic, risk, and quality management of the company. The proposed
business processes also include technical business processes, namely forecasting product
demand, vendor management, product satisfaction data analysis, human resource
management, and financial resource management. The research also resulted in a proposed
functional organizational structure with 7 divisions and 19 sub-divisions. The proposed
structure has three hierarchical levels: Director, division heads, and sub-divisions.
Hopefully, the proposed organizational structure design can solve the company’s problem
by a well-defined chain of command. Decisions regarding the implementation of research
results are owned entirely by Adorable Projects.
