Summary: | Driven by curiosity sparked while observing a large family portrait in an old photo album, I
became interested in exploring the deeper meaning behind the image. The living room is the living
archive of our family, preserving the stories and events that have shaped us. Moved by the
significance of this space, I paid homage to the past through six paintings. I used old photographs
as the basis for my visual exploration. The choice of color palette was made with psychological
considerations, where warm colors are associated with positive emotions and soft colors with
calmness. I chose warm colors for happy memories and soft colors for serene moments. This final
project is analyzed using the framework of Post-Impressionism and the concept of art as form. I
selected Susan Ryder as a comparative study artist due to similarities in brushstroke techniques.
My works are like time portals, inviting viewers on a nostalgic journey to the past. Spanning from
the first to the sixth canvas, I present the room as an object in various compositions. |
