Description
Summary:Batik is a form of culture in Indonesia. Starting with an interest in batik motifs and a desire to reinterpret the author's relationship with the author's hometown, the author begins by looking at the cultural history of the city of Surakarta and composes these cultural elements into a composition depicted on batik motifs. The work process is carried out by emphasizing the paint strokes on the brush and canting them into the surface of the work. The results of the work show that the representational context brought about strata, environment and culture is an imaginary line that builds an identity for an individual, group or society at large. This imaginary line is interpreted and understood to mean that distortions of this imaginary line exist and have rigid and flexible properties according to where the individual lives.
