The current lack of knowledge among Indonesian coffee lovers about the history and culture of coffee in West Java shows the need for efforts to reintroduce the cultural heritage of West Java coffee to the public. Coffee is not only seen as a drink, but also has an important role in Indonesian culture during the Indonesian-Dutch colonial period, which has had a significant impact on various aspects of culture that still exist today. Stories and information about West Java coffee are only conveyed through a few books and a few articles that discuss its uniqueness and history, so a more appropriate media is needed to provide information about West Java coffee to coffee lovers in Indonesia. In this digital era, most Indonesians seek information through websites. To make it more interesting, some information can be conveyed using illustration techniques, digital storytelling, and scrollytelling. The scrollytelling method is a design approach that simplifies complex content into manageable parts, allowing users to control the speed when using the website and digesting information. Coffee connoisseurs or lovers like to explore various types of coffee and can understand the values behind a cup of coffee. The design method begins with a literature review of content and then conducts a data search to obtain a basis for design. The literature study is in the form of website theory, digital storytelling, and scrollytelling. The data search was conducted after the literature study was obtained. The data is in the form of an interview with a coffee plantation owner in West Java, Agus Sumantri, regarding the history of West Java coffee, and about coffee in West Java, an interview about the website with a website programmer, Yovan Julio Adam, and a survey regarding knowledge about West Java coffee and website through a questionnaire to coffee lovers in Indonesia. The results of the analysis are used as a reference in media design. This design is expected to introduce West Java coffee to the Indonesian people, especially coffee lovers, and increase the value of West Java coffee as one of the superior coffee varieties of the archipelago. text |
