The prevailing trends on social media that normalize the ownership of wild animals have shifted the perception of animals from living beings to mere objects of collection and recreation. The limited ability of humans to meet the natural needs of these animals has negatively impacted their welfare, leading to the emergence of abnormal stereotypic behaviors in captive animals. This issue is further exacerbated by the fact that Indonesian law only addresses the welfare of protected wild animals. The absence of regulations and laws governing the ownership and captivity of unprotected wild animals has resulted in numerous cases and social media content depicting wild animals being kept and mistreated by irresponsible individuals. As young adults begin to assume roles of responsibility and are the largest active users of social media in Indonesia, they are expected to advocate for the rights and welfare of animals. Therefore, the author has designed an experimental animation that depicts the stereotypic behaviors exhibited by wild animals in captivity, with the aim of raising awareness and empathy among young adults toward the welfare of wild animals. The experimental animation, which introduces a novel mix of digital media and watercolor, is intended to convey a narrative that contrasts the lives of wild animals in their natural habitats with those in human environments. This design is expected to provide a new experience for the target audience and enhance their awareness of the issues surrounding wild animal ownership and stereotypic behaviors in wild animals. The research was conducted using data collection methods, including interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies. text
