Description
Summary:The presence of social media enables individuals to express themselves and interact virtually. With the ease of media communication, people can engage in activities in the virtual world that they may not be able to do in the real world. The lack of restraint in behavior sometimes leads individuals to act more aggressively online, a phenomenon known as the toxic online disinhibition effect. Many incidents of violence, incitement, and verbal attacks in the virtual world can be attributed to this phenomenon. Adolescents experiencing identity confusion may resort to unhealthy forms of self-representation, affecting how they present themselves online. Therefore, there is a need for educational media resources addressing the impact of the toxic online disinhibition effect among adolescents. Research methods will involve literature reviews, interviews, and questionnaires. The planning focus will be on understanding the effects and causes of the toxic online disinhibition effect phenomenon specifically among adolescents.
