Summary: | In Indonesia, autonomous vehicle technology is being introduced gradually. One form
of autonomous vehicle that is being developed is the autonomous personal mobility
vehicle. Trust and acceptance of autonomous vehicles are key factors in increasing the
adoption of this technology. However, users have not fully accepted autonomous
vehicles with a high level of intelligence. Trust and acceptance of autonomous vehicles
are obstacles that need to be overcome for the successful implementation of this
technology. The main focus of the research is to propose a solution design aimed at
increasing trust and acceptance of autonomous vehicles.
This research was conducted using an eye tracker, a mobile phone as a NDRT medium,
and also a camera. Trust is identified through the results of the eye tracker, NDRT, and
also reactions when using autonomous vehicles. By identifying the factors that get the
lowest scores for acceptance, this study seeks to contribute to overcoming the obstacles
to accepting autonomous vehicle technology. An acceptance questionnaire is also
included as a measuring tool for acceptance. The total number of participants is 20
people. Participants will use autonomous vehicles while doing NDRT in the form of
playing games.
As a result, participants can accept autonomous vehicles and already have trust in
autonomous vehicles, but participants do not fully trust them. For this reason, a
solution was designed in the form of an audio-visual indicator that shows the direction
and gives a sign of vehicle movement. This solution is expected to increase user trust
and acceptance of autonomous personal mobility vehicles.
