Therefore, it is imperative to engage in collaboration with all stakeholders in order to effectively mitigate food waste. Food banks appear as a potential actor to reduce food waste by distributing surplus food. Unfortunately, food bank as non-profit organizations rely significantly on donors for their operations. As a result, research on food banks impact on decreased number of food waste need to be discover. This study employs a Soft System Agent-based Methodology (SSABM) to comprehend the existing state of food banks in Indonesia and simulate the impact of internal and external factor that motivated public to donate. There are three outcomes from this research; namely 1) comprehensive overview of collaboration between food bank and stakeholders in West Java, 2) identifies the primary motivation that drive individuals to donate, and 3) simulation of dynamic community interactions in the context of making a donation. In this research, external actors are the biggest factor that makes people want to make donations. In addition, according to the simulation results, online marketing that utilize influencers have the potential to decrease waste by as much as 9,8%. This research enhances the theoretical understanding of how individuals interact and make donations. Lastly, author provide three practical recommendations for food bank to enhance the public awareness with the ultimate goal of food waste reduction. text
