These methods showed no differences, so that the Tafel extrapolation method can be used for monitoring rate of corrosion within a short time. It has been found that the corrosion rate in medium pH 4 were as follows, brass rolled brass > quenched brass > annealed brass. Further on, the corrosion rate as a function of pH were as follows, medium pH 4> medium pH 7> medium pH 10 medium pH 12. Optical metallography has been used for evaluation the corrosion product and the greatest corrosion was found for. brass a medium of pH 4. text
