To protect springs from mining activities, hydrological study is conducted to understand the changes in watersheds and its drainage. One of the critical component of this hydrological study is rainfall analysis using the Gumbel Distribution, which has been tested with a goodness of fit test to ensure model accuracy and suitability. Based on the results of this study, strategy to conserve water resource around the mine can be designed. Five watersheds have been identified, with watersheds number 2, 3, and 4 originating from the mining area. Retention ponds could be placed at the outlet of watersheds number 2, 3, and 4 and proper drainage to collect mine water runoff. The construction of perimeter ditches to direct water flow systematically is also planned. This strategy can be used to conserve the springs water both quality and quantity, and ensure the sustainability of water resources. text
