Summary:PT. HPS is a private company that offers mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) and renewable energy business lines in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services—for example, PT. HPS's main business is installation and mechanical electrical maintenance services. The problem with PT. HPS is that it does not optimize human capital management (HCM). The researcher attempted to examine which aspects of the company's HCM practice were lacking, and it was later discovered that the basic salary system was not built on a solid basis. Hours of operational workday observations and interviews were conducted throughout the departments of PT. HPS in preparation for the intended revised basic salary system. This research will assist the Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Human Resource Departments in implementing more complex and advanced HCM practices following the COVID-19 pandemic. The researcher will conduct further study on the work design as part of processing this research, which will include a company job analysis for each position. According to the company's internal data, analysis of jobs are available, including job specifications and competencies for each position. Each position’s competency is based on the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) competency dictionary report in 2020. Researcher believe that the result of this research can be implemented as a competency-based basic salary system as a progress of continuously improve in HCM practice that can be proposed a solution, that later utilize PERSOLKELLY 2021-2024 Salary Guide in Indonesia for external benchmarking.
