As stated by this policy, the installation of new pipelines is expected to increase the productivity of oil and gas exploration in Indonesia. However, the process of deploying subsea pipelines according to the standard criteria to avoid failures in the subsea pipeline installation process shall be satisfied. In addition, the allowable free span length after as laid during installation to operation conditions shall be analysed with respect to avoid failure due to VIV or environmental overloading of the subsea pipeline free span. This study involves a lay barge configuration during the subsea pipeline installation process according to the DNV-ST-F101 standard and an analysis of the allowable free span length based on the DNV-RP-F105 standard design criteria for a grade X52 pipe with a diameter of 12.75 inch, wall thickness of 19.1 mm, and a concrete coating thickness of 76.5 mm. This study involves lay barge configurations during wave and current loads for 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, 180°, 225°, 270°, and 315° directions with the resulting stresses and strains that occur during the installation process then compares them with the allowable stresses, allowable strains, and concrete crushing criteria. Based on the results of the analysis, the maximum stress and strain during the subsea pipeline installation process occurred for the combination of wave and current loads in the 90° direction. text
