INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/85256 Crime is a social problem that has become an integral part of society. Crime location mapping efforts have been made in analyzing and making decisions. One of the existing crime mappings is using physical maps and pins. However, physical maps and pins have shortcomings such as the amount of data used (Da?lar et al, 2016), the time to create the mapping, the information provided is limited to visualization, and data management. Geographic information systems can provide several benefits in conducting the crime mapping process, such as being able to display large amounts of data, the mapping process is fast, and additional functions can be added to assist analysis, such as density information, data clusters, and crime trends. In this research, a geographic information system for crime mapping in the city of Boston is built. Crime mapping will be web-based. The system can map crimes by using digital pins and on each pin there is a descriptive value of the crime. The system also has several functions to provide other information, such as heatmaps to see the density of an area, cluster data in each district, filtering data based on descriptive values, and predicting crime trends. Functional testing of the system gave good results with each function running as designed. The implemented system is also quite easy to use based on the results of the questionnaire. The average speed of the system in retrieving data to display crime mapping is 12.67 seconds when retrieving from the database and 7.52 seconds when through IndexedDB with the data used is 70044 crime location points. text |
