RISK MANAGEMENT AND RISK COST ESTIMATION IN TANJUNG BATU PORT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT, BELITUNG REGENCY, BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS PROVINCE

Tanjung Batu Port is projected to handle a cargo capacity of 12 million tons/year, whereas previously it could only handle 2.4 million tons/year. This development is being undertaken due to the high potential for cargo, despite the port’s low cargo service infrastructure capacity and operational limitations. Additionally, the strategic location of the port is expected to facilitate the development of the Belitung region with its mining activities. Every project requires risk management, whether it is a small or large-scale project. This also applies to the Tanjung Batu Port development project. Each project has different risks. This study conducted a series of risk management processes on the construction project at Tanjung Batu Port along with its mitigation plans. Additionally, a risk cost estimation was carried out using Monte Carlo analysis to obtain the percentage of risk costs against the total estimated budget plan. Based on the research conducted, it was found that there are 54 identified risks for this construction project, with a total of 51 risks impacting costs with a risk level above the low criteria. The estimation results show that the risk cost for the entire construction work of Tanjung Batu Port is amount to 15,99% for risk-related costs and 1,18% for cost due to residual risks after mitigation for infrastructure.
