Description
Summary:Batik SMEs contribute to preserving cultural heritage and the national economics. Nevertheless, various strategic challenges are still encountered due to uncertainty in the business environment. To face those challenges, Batik SMEs need to continuously innovate, not only in product innovation but also process innovation. Business process innovation in Batik SMEs should accommodate incremental and radical innovation simultaneously and continuously in a balanced way through BPM ambidexterity. BPM ambidexterity in Batik SMEs needs a maturity model to measure its capability and provide an improvement roadmap. However, no research has developed a maturity model of BPM ambidexterity, especially for SMEs. The information on BPM ambidexterity maturity level in Batik SMEs can help the company understand its current maturity level and arrange the necessary follow-up improvement procedures. This research developed a BPM ambidexterity maturity model for Batik SMEs that can measure SME's current capability and provide a roadmap for improvement. The maturity model constitutes three domain components: organizational capability, external collaboration, and BPM lifecycle. The maturity level of BPM ambidexterity is determined by measuring BPM exploration and exploitation capabilities independently using 58 indicators. The maturity model was validated through several validation stages: content validation, face validation, and applicability validation to collect the application feedback from Batik SMEs.
